I’m so excited to be going back to Lahore. My parents came to Canada in the ‘70s and we used to go back every three years throughout the ‘80s and ‘90s, until my grandparents passed away. My favourite childhood memories are as a care-free kid playing with my cousins on the rooftop of my khala’s (aunt’s) house. I haven’t been since 2003; my mom hasn’t been since 1996! So not only is this going to be a wedding shopping excursion but also a long overdue family reunion!
I’ve been doing so much research about bridal fashion and the shopping scene in Lahore, and I can’t say enough good things about my new favourite Pakistani fashion blog Secret Closet. (The fact that I was the lucky winner of a Nida Azwer pret kurta in their contest also helps!)
Because of their refined coverage of Pakistani fashion, I know that when I’m in Lahore I will definitely be checking out Sania Maskatiya’s Sapphire Lawn Collection, Kamal Lawn by Zara Shahjahan and Elan Lawn by Khadija Shah, all in Gullberg. I cannot wait to check out these three exhibitions, and I will definitely do a follow-up post on each!
